Modular Building Configuration

1. Standard Container Houses

The project used 142 standard houses as the main building units. These modules could be arranged for offices, accommodation, meeting rooms, staff rest areas, or other temporary site functions.

2. Special-Shaped Houses

Eight special-shaped units were included to adapt the modular building to specific layout and architectural requirements.

3. Bathroom Units

A total of 36 bathroom modules provided sanitation and washing facilities for personnel working and living on the construction site.

4. Staircase Units

Seven staircase units connected different levels of the modular buildings and supported safe vertical movement within the camp.

5. Aisle Houses

The project included 79 aisle houses, creating covered internal circulation routes between rooms and different functional areas.

Factory Manufacturing and Site Installation

The flat packed container houses adopted a construction method based on factory manufacturing and on-site installation.

Most building components were prefabricated before delivery and then assembled at the construction site. This approach reduced the amount of wet construction work required on site and helped limit construction water use, building waste, and decoration waste.

For an expressway project with multiple temporary functional requirements, standardized factory production also helped organize the delivery and installation of different room types.

Exterior Coating and Material Treatment

According to the original project page, the metal exterior components adopted a graphene powder electrostatic spraying process.

This coating process was used to provide a bright surface finish while improving resistance to ultraviolet exposure, wind, rain, and chemical substances. It also helped extend the service life and flame-retardant duration of the coating.

Fazit

The Jingxiong Expressway project in Xiongan used 272 flat packed container houses to establish a temporary engineering camp with office, accommodation, sanitation, circulation, and support functions.

By combining standard rooms, special-shaped modules, bathrooms, staircases, and aisle houses, the project created a modular building system suited to the daily needs of a large expressway construction site.

The case demonstrates how factory-prefabricated container houses can be applied to road construction camps and infrastructure projects that require multiple temporary functions, efficient site installation, and an organized project environment.
