The Hebei Temporary Hospital Project was developed as an emergency response facility during the epidemic prevention period in China. To meet the urgent demand for temporary medical and isolation space, the project adopted container house systems as the main building solution.
Compared with traditional construction methods, container houses can be produced, transported, and installed more efficiently, making them suitable for public health emergency projects where time, flexibility, and site adaptability are important. The modular structure allows the temporary hospital to be arranged according to actual site conditions and functional requirements.
The container house system can support multiple temporary medical functions, including patient observation rooms, staff working areas, basic support rooms, and epidemic prevention service spaces. Its standardized design also makes later relocation, adjustment, or reuse more convenient.
This project shows how modular container houses can provide practical temporary medical infrastructure during epidemic situations. By using prefabricated building units, the project helped support local emergency healthcare response and provided flexible space for epidemic prevention, observation, and temporary hospital operation in Hebei, China.
