The Nanjing Metro Line 9 Project adopted a combination of container houses and KZ houses to establish a modular project department for construction management and daily site operations. Designed to meet the requirements of urban rail transit construction, the modular building system integrates office, accommodation, meeting, and auxiliary service functions into a practical and efficient temporary facility.
Container houses provide flexible office and support spaces, while KZ houses create larger-span functional areas for meeting rooms, dining facilities, or other public spaces. By combining these two modular building systems, the project department can be planned according to the actual needs of the construction site while maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
Compared with conventional temporary buildings, modular buildings are manufactured in the factory, transported to the project site, and assembled efficiently. Their standardized components also allow the buildings to be dismantled, relocated, and reused for future engineering projects, reducing construction waste and improving resource utilization.
The Nanjing Metro Line 9 Project demonstrates the application of modular construction technology in urban infrastructure development.
