Cúlra an Tionscadail

As the first coastal nuclear power project invested and constructed by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) in Guangdong Province, the Lianjiang Nuclear Power Plant is located at Tianluoling, Cheban Town, Lianjiang City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. With a total investment of approximately 130 billion RMB, it stands as two pioneering milestones in China’s nuclear power industry: the country’s first nuclear power project adopting seawater secondary cycle cooling technology, and the first project with domestically developed and applied ultra-large cooling towers for nuclear energy.

The seawater secondary cycle cooling technology drastically improves the environmental performance of nuclear power facilities and minimizes adverse impacts on surrounding marine ecosystems. The deployment of ultra-large cooling towers sets a new benchmark for nuclear power plant site selection, offering broader layout options and development space for future nuclear power construction projects. To match the high-standard construction schedule of this key national clean energy project, GS Housing customized an integrated modular site office building and delivered an efficient, safe and eco-friendly overall temporary office solution for the project.

Project Overview

The project department’s office building adopts an L-shaped two-story layout. The building stretches 66.7 meters from east to west and 44.1 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 2,049.5 square meters, perfectly fitting the traffic and layout requirements of the nuclear construction site.

The entire building is constructed by combining porta cabins and prefabricated KZ houses. A complete range of supporting modular units is available, including standard units, 3-meter customized units, stairwell units, aisle units and functional units, which can be freely assembled and rearranged according to diverse on-site office demands.

The space features complete functional zones to fully satisfy all on-site supporting needs: independent office areas, multi-functional conference rooms, staff canteen, public restrooms and tea lounges. Distinct partitions for work, meetings, catering and rest balance practicality and humanization.

Core Advantages of Modular Office Buildings

  1. Fast Construction to Meet Tight Schedules of Large-scale Projects Over 90% of modular house components are prefabricated in factories. Only assembly work is required on-site with simple procedures and rapid installation, greatly shortening the delivery cycle of temporary facilities and enabling management teams to move in and work at the nuclear power site in a short time.

  1. Multi-protection Performance Adapted to Coastal Harsh Environments Tailored for Zhanjiang’s coastal climate with high temperature, heavy rainfall and corrosive sea wind, the modular structures integrate superior sound insulation, thermal insulation and fireproof performance. They effectively block outdoor noise, stabilize indoor temperature and meet strict fire safety standards for nuclear power projects, ensuring long-term stable service.

  1. Movable & Reusable, Cost-effective & Eco-friendly The whole modular complex can be disassembled, transported and reused for other construction sites after project completion. It drastically reduces construction waste and delivers better economic and low-carbon benefits compared with traditional brick temporary buildings, aligning with the green construction philosophy of nuclear power projects.

  1. Professional Four-slope Roof for Rainwater Drainage Against Heavy Coastal Rains The building adopts a four-slope roof design to accelerate rainwater discharge. Rainwater is quickly guided to four corners of the roof and drained via the ground drainage system, completely avoiding roof ponding and leakage, lowering long-term maintenance costs and well adapting to rainy southern coastal regions.
